Our Vision
Student Haulage has become a local tradition in the Sans Souci Georgain Bay area. Over the last 10+ years it has been passed down 3 times through 4 owners, all students as well as cottagers from the area. We have all shared the same basic vision:
- Provide our community with a higher quality, more economical maintenance option than has historically been avalible
- Provide steady summer jobs to kids on the bay, that teach discipline, responsibility, and the rewards that hard work brings
- To put in hard work; for our education and future, so one day we ourselves can hire the future Student Haulage boys.
About Me
My brother and I have been lucky enough to spend all my holidays on the bay thanks to my marvelous late grandmother Betty; No doubt without her, our family's presence would have long since resigned of this wonderful place. I owe same eternal gratitude to my Grandpa Bill, the quintessential gentleman, and his second wife Ann; A presence in her own right on around the Georgain Bay, not to mention keeping us well fed!
During the rest of the year I trade in my steel toes and chainsaw for textbooks and clean clothes. Attending McGill University as a Science student. I have a passion for design, photography (my personal site), and self-enrichment; my plans for the future remain liquid. I live my life by only one constant, no matter what I'm doing, I want to be doing it for myself.
Why I Do This
What do you want to be when you grow up?
This question has tortured me, much the same as most of my formal
education, though they were under the impression it was the reverse. I was always much happier to do it my way, though that statement is such a middle school cliche, it's irony is that it was labeled as just that.
Some say life is all about the work/play balance, for me every day is about bringing both together. My brain functions quite different than most, this life is a roller coster and I'd accept no other. I love this job, I love the community and most of all I love Georgain Bay. For better or for worse these are the dice I roll every morning, I just get to pick the odds.
